SOLENT CLUB for AMATEUR RADIO & TELEVISION |
| Well just who are S.C.A.R.T ? Scart is a club for radio amateurs whose
main interest is in amateur television and video related subjects (amongst many other
things).The club meet’s every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at the British Legion
club Park Gate from 8.00pm (just off junction 9 M27).The meeting’s themselves are
very informal and tend to be a mixture of chat and construction (mainly bits to do with GB3AT),
with of course a few pints consumed in the process (another good reason to come along).
S.C.A.R.T is also responsible for GB3AT which is a TV repeater now located near Winchester.The repeater has an input of 1249Mhz and a output of 1316Mhz with both 5.5 and 6Mhz sound channels on the output.The 5.5Mhz sound carrier is for engineering works and talkback where the two stations are unable to hear each other on 2mtrs.The 6Mhz carrier is the repeater audio through. The brains of the repeater is an Amiga1200 running our own software ,which is still in the stages of development.We hope to have lots of teletext style pages with local news and info available soon,with DTMF control on 70cms for access. We as a club are now in the process of getting a new repeater GB3PT up and running, to go over to the Isle of Wight. The coverage from this site will be much better than that of GB3AT which has problems in certain directions due to the growth of trees local to the site. It is hoped that between both repeaters that a greater area will be served. At first GB3PT will be a very basic repeater but will grow as time goes on and it is hoped to link both GB3AT and GB3PT via 13cm. |

| 6/12/00 | Well the dinner was held at The Hunters Inn last night and went down very well. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it (especially the Duck !!served on extra large plates). Everyone seem to enjoy the evening with plenty of chatting and laughing going on all around. On a whole I think the evening was a success and with nearly £500 being spent I think the pub done well to keep the food and drinks flowing all night. | 24/10/00 | This year the club will hold a Xmas Dinner at The Hunters Inn (Swanmore) on Tuesday the 5th December at 8PM. All are welcome but please let me know as soon as possible so I can book the numbers. I will try to get a menu and draw a map nearer to the event. Please note that there will be no meeting for that night. |

| 14/08/00 | The weekends rally was a success with one new member joining up and £87.40 being taken from the sale of bits and pieces sold from the stand. Also Giles gave £70 to the club for use of the pitch which makes a grand total of £162.40. So many thanks to all those people who helped out on the day and donated all the bits for sale, with a special thanks to Kerry G6CPE for his help over the last few years and good luck with the move. |
